[cross-posted to the PLUG & Python(ph) mailing list]

When I got this reply on my query on whether the PLUG
archives has got a search feature - it got me interested,
So I downloaded mailman - then did some 'hacking'
besides it gave me a reason to check out Python :)
and a theory.

The result is this quick-and-dirty Python script
to provide a search capability to the PLUG archives.
It's my very first program in Python (skipped the
Hello,world part) - and like I said quick-and-dirty.
Read the README on the tarball for more details.

Why post this? Well, as they say "Release early ..."
Besides, people might be willing to improve or extend
this code or this could be a jump-off point for people
to try a similar thing. The code is being released to
the public domain - do with it what you like. Another
thing is that people could help me test this out on
real mailing lists with archives from different
years, months. Testing was done through 'tests' mailing
lists with 3 subscribers and in one year-month only.

Regards,
