it would help if you'd give the actual domain so we could verify, i'm 
assuming
that domain.edu.net is a generic name you gave to help describe ur prob. 
anyway, i
suspect that the domain configured an MX without a corresponding A 
record in
their dns. either that or they're having problems with their dns.

check mo na rin dns mo...just in case server mo pala may prob. =)
