Hi,

Just wondering if you could help me with an Oracle 8i setup issue. Oracle
setup is pretty straight forward wiht RH6.2. With RH7 and above, you have
to install the compat-egcs, compat-glibc and compat-lib packages, set
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.15 and run an environment script located in the compat
directory.

I've been able to setup Oracle on all RH versions. My problem is trying to
make it run on a Cobalt Qube appliance which uses Linux as its OS. I guess
my first question is how do you find out what version libraries the Cobalt
is using since Oracle needs glibc2.1. My second question is where to find
the required backwards compatible libraries to compile on the Cobalt?

Thanks.

From,
Carlos Yu
