i just tried it. the current installer is nowehere helpful for beginners.
imagine, you'll have to go through partitioning and configuring the
2.4 kernel on the spot and guessing at some options and how they will
affect the install process.  there seems to be no non-interactive default
setup.  but SGL did say it was meant that way --> to be really
configurable the linux enthusiast's way. it looks like you cant install
two sgl boxes exactly the same way without taking down notes on paper.

it uses devfs, shm (what's this?), tmpfs heavily (so that explains 1GB RAM
and swap) and some new partition semantics like
/dev/ide/host0/blahblah0.../part1 just to refer to good old /dev/hda1.

the kernel is bleeding edge --> 2.4.17 with an option to add patches like
grsecurity (something like lids + openwall).
