there's also this /devices mount point which looks like devfs too and
refers to disk partitions as /devices/disk0/part1 and virtual consoles
as /devices/vc/1.
the base install of sgl consumes under 450MB. notably it has no built-in
X and no iptables/ipchains but has builtin support for ext3/reseirfs.
it's so bare, it boots up that fast because it only runs one daemon
(xinetd) after mounting. no fancy lengthy rc scripts. very good for
minimalist server installations. i think u can ignore the 1GB ram+swap
requirement if you're not going to use the package manager (sorcery) and
by converting all tmpfs to actual disk partitions. and u can avoid the
online bandwidth requirements if you already have the source for the
software u need to install via good old 'make'. very nice for highly
customized bloat-free servers.
