hi everyone,

what's the expected performance penalty associated with scanning
incoming/outgoing email for viruses? it must be huge since the mail system
has to start the virus scanning program and then terminate and then start
another again when a new email comes in...is there some way to have the
virus scanner sort of like a daemon process so that it doesn't have to keep
on starting/shutting down everytime mail comes in/out?

thanks,

-andre
