I believe in an earlier post I said "postfix + uvscan + sophie." Wrong. What I meant was "postfix + avcheck + sophie." This setup does everything you describe in so much detail. Suggest you check it out. sophie is the interesting part: a library and daemon which spawns a Sophos Sweep, connected to a UNIX socket. Goodbye startup and fork time. Everything's in C, so much faster than AMAVIS.
