If true, then clearly it _cannot saturate ATA/66_ (let alone ATA/100).
Exactly as I said.

Even if one grants that Maxtor isn't exaggerating in the usual fashion
for competitive advantage, yes.  What you've just cited are manufacturer
claims that the drive can, under some ideal conditions, come just short
of maxing out a 66 MB/sec bus-bandwidth ceiling.

I'll admit it's conceivable that they suddenly stopped doing it today,
after consistently doing it for their entire history until now.  ;->
But that's irrelevant to the question.
