Hey guys, I had a few free cycles this morning and decided to install Open Office. I normally use Ximian Red Carpet so I can easily manage the packages (read as lazyly install updates.) But to my surprise, it's prompting me to uninstall a number of packages including autoconf, automake, bonobo, db1, db2, ghostcripts, a number of KDE, and GNOME packages, perl, postgres, etc. etc. I'm hesitant to just remove those packages w/o first knowning why. So, does anybody know why installing Open Office packaged by Ximian (openoffice-1.0-0.ximian.1) would require the removal of the packages I mentioned above?
I'd appreciate any information. Thanks, jeff -- -- Jeff Gutierrez Pinoy Ako! May reklamo?
