Hi:

If you're mail monitor is installed on the same machine where your sendmail
is installed, you have to change the port of sendmail in the sendmail.cf.
And set you mail monitor configuration to point your smtp server to the new
port. But if your mail monitor is on another server, you don't have to
change port. The concept of mail monitor is to intercept the mail and scan
it first before passing it to sendmail. If you have a difficulty with mail
monitor, you can use Mailscanner instead. Unlike Mail Monitor, Mail scanner
will get the mail from the queue folder on sendmail and placed it on the
other queue folder for scanning. And Mailscanner works best with sophos and
is easy to deploy.

Hope that helps
