Hi all!

I just downloaded version 1.2.3 of Simple Directmedia Layer (SDL) and
followed the installation instruction which simply:

1. Extract the archive
2. Enter the archive directory as root
3. ./configure; make; make install

This worked without a hitch. The thing is, Im not sure if the new
libraries are being accessed by the programs that need it. My old version
of SDL, which I installed from a binary RPM, was still in its old
directories. Is there some other program I'm supposed to run to make sure
the new version of SDL is being used? Should I simply run rpm -e SDL to
delete the old version? And once done deleting, is there anything else I
should do?

Thanks! God bless!
