I don't have a laptop but I have a Conexant HSF winmodem that is now fully
working in Linux. It has been officially a linmodem just recently, sometime
in the middle of June. Before that, I couldn't get it to work. Thanks to Marc
for his tireless hacking on this poor but affordable winmodem.

Don't know if there's a PCMCIA version of HSF, but if ever you come across
this one, don't hesitate to try it out first. The drivers are conveniently
packaged in RPM format. I forgot the link, but Google knows.
