I lost the board when I tried to install Red Hat 6(?) and it saw the bbs
partition and formatted it. I don't remember if I read the instructions
correctly or the option I selected. So without a backup of the users, i
just shut down the board. :-(

To keep on the topic of linux, I did try to setup a BBS to run linux and
even tried to setup a gateway for the echomail to newgroup but didn't get it
off the ground at that time.

The boards that I know that are still up and running are Filebank run by
Terry Roati, Lighthouse BBS by Peter Que (the longest running board in the
Philippines). Eddie Salonga's Livewire board. I had a call from Emerson
Balbin(?) the other month and he mentioned that his board crashed recently
so I don't know if he has got it up running yet. There is still one running
in Pampanga by Jun Martin and one in Subic by Stewart Buckingham.

And for those interested with dynamic ips, you might be interested to note
that Filebank is connected to the net via destiny's cable modem. You can
login to the Filebank and be able to surf the net with Wildcat navigator(?)
or RAS. One can also access the board from the web. Check out
http://www.fidonet.ph Uses port 81 to go around destiny's lock on port 80.

God bless.

William
