Title: gcc

Hey guys

I have this problem in gcc, coz when i recompile it, then i do a"gcc -v" it displays the old version
it says:

faraday:/usr/OpenVXI_2.0.1/src # gcc -v
Using builtin specs.
Configured with: /home/temp/gcc-3.0.2/configure
Thread model: single
gcc version 3.0.2

eventhough i've compileda newer version, it still keeps on using the same gcc binary i supposed because of this message,

am i correct in my assumption?

any advice in compiling gcc would be usefull

Thanks

,JM
