What does that make you? A right-wing libertarian? You quote Ayn Rand
no doubt? Worship the capitalist pigs who monopolize the accumulated
wealth of our dead ancestors, and who are even now using bullying and
intimidation tactics to steal from the natives of your own country the
land that they have held for centuries? You probably think that your
rural countryment should "get out of the way of progress", move to the
cities, and become slum-dwellers so the big multi-nationals can rape
your land? All of this is implied in your denigration of "the left".

For the record, the operating system is GNU, Linux is the kernel. It is
only out of extreme politeness and bending over backwards that RMS has
compromised on the term GNU/Linux. By rights we should all be saying
GNU *except* when referring specifically to the Linux kernel.

Does anyone call OsX OsX/Mach? Well gee, why not? Don't you think
Apple should give credit to the developers of the Mach microkernel that
their operating system runs on? How about NEXTSTEP/Mach? No? Never
heard of that either? How about AtheOS/Linux? Never heard of that?
Thats odd; AtheOS (a BeOS clone) does use Linux as it's underlying
kernel...

You criticize RMS for being an extremist; what you overlook is that he
is being extremely polite. Were I in his shoes, I doubt I would be so
accomodating to upstarts who try to take the mindshare of my project and
tell people "oh, Freedom isn't so very important...". RMS is a true
gentleman, and his nitpickiness is what has kept the FSF free of legal
troubles all these years. Everything has been done clearly and above
board, even in the small things that it would be easy to just blow off.
