All of the files in /proc do not actually use any diskspace unless you
copy them elsewhere, which you shouldn't be doing. They simply give
you a file view of your memory and your processes. So you don't need
to worry about disk space usage on /proc.

/proc is usually used to configure certain kernel options (like
/proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward). You can also get data from it (cat
/proc/1/status).
