Saw your post...  without follow-ups. I wonder if you
have found the answer?

I'm considering to get a 1U box with SCA hot swap 
bays + 10k SCSI...  And, it runs Red Hat.

What about booting after one disk fails?  Do you leave 
the boot block on the floopy or ?
