SMSC protocols is just SMPP and CIMD right? one of them is just a dumb "telnet protocol" -- e.g. you can use Perl Net::Telnet to talk to the switch, while the other one uses binary packets (so just a bit harder.. but nothing Perl pack/unpack can't handle).
