Audacity. Runs like CoolEdit 2000. If you've tried cutting and splicing .wav 
files/audio files before in Windows, you'd be surprise that audio file 
editing in Linux is way fast!

I'm still looking for a Sonic Foundry Sound Forge equivalent in Linux. I'm 
also looking for an ACID 3.0 equivalent in Linux.
