By accident, i selected mail/news server, among others, during
installation of Mandrake-Linux 8.2. Now while trying to run mutt, it
complains of errno=2 or something, eg, the default user mailbox does not
exist. Trying to make one with echo "whatever_msg" | mail -s
"whatever_subject" $USER gives:
send-mail: fatal: My hostname localhost is not a fully qualified name - set myhostname
or mydomain in /etc/postfix/main.cf
i dont want to administer postfix, a bit advanced at least for me. All i
want is just get mails off my inboxes and thats it. HOw do i stop this
service? I tried testing removing postfix with rpm but mutt is included as
dependency. Anyone can suggest is appreciated. TIA.
