Hello all,

I need ssh keepalive to work. It doesn't seem to be working. Basic testing
(open an ssh connection, then add an iptables rule to drop all packets
from the remote host) isn't doing what I expect (isn't the ssh connection
supposed to close if the remote host is down?).

Sniffing with ethereal doesn't show any KeepAlive packets from either
side either. Both server (sshd_config) and client (ssh_config and
~/.ssh/config) have KeepAlive yes in there.

Client is Mandrake 9.0 with openssh 3.5p1 (from RPM). Server is
FreeBSD with openssh 3.5p1 built from source.

Also, where in the config files would I configure keepalive frequence
and tolerance level (e.g., five keepalive failures in a row means the
connection is down). I don't see where that would be set at all, so
so is it not possible?
