We members of the Linux Gazette Answer Gang have to deal with hostile incoming e-mail formatting all the time. Here's my standard text-snippet that I send back at the top of my technical answers to such folk (in the quoted instance, to an MS-Outlook user): I'm sure you're unaware of this, but you sent your message in a difficult-to-read format called "quoted-printable" with extraneous MIME headers like the foregoing, and with your entire message printed a second time in HTML. Please change your mailer's settings to stop it from doing this. Instructions are here: http://expita.com/nomime.html#outlook5 I edit my description of the particular formatting malady according to what's present, but the "http://expita.com/nomime.html" part always goes at the bottom, since that's an _excellent_ page with specific help for most popular mailers, explaining in simple wording how to fix one's sending text format. -- Cheers, Founding member of the Hyphenation Society, a grassroots-based, Rick Moen not-for-profit, locally-owned-and-operated, cooperatively-managed, [EMAIL PROTECTED] modern-American-English-usage-improvement association. _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
