>i configured samba already, and i can see it in windows 98 network neighborhood, >but the problem is when i click on the shared folder it says >"file://>\\MTTO\/home/samba  network name cannot be found"  can anybody tell >me how to fix this???  would really appreciate it.

I can only think of 3 reason here.

1.Check your /etc/samba/smb.conf file (or any smb.conf file), you may have accidentally specify a share that does not exist in linux

   ex:   [folder]

           path = /home/folder

       where /home/folder does not exist

2. /home/folder may have existed but you do not have a previlege (I sounded like a windows instructor here).anyway, just check ownership and permission.

3. /home/folder may have been incorrectly typed and may actually be /home/polder

(which will fall to no#2)

I have assumed that your connection is 100% error free. You may want to check it.

Honestly, number two might give a different error msg. It would likely complain of permission denied. Anyway do just check it d:-j

Additionally, posting your smb.conf file would help greatly.

Hope I helped.

Well, here goes my qoata for ansering this month.
