Hello all, I downloaded a file with an extension of .cpio.gz. So what I did was to extract first the gunzip by:
$ gunzip -d filename.cpio.gz Now, the result was already "filename.cpio" file. As far as I understand the CPIO command, the right command to extract .cpio files should be: # cpio -idmv filename.cpio My problem is, I don't know if it's running/working correctly because it seems that it's hanging(?). I execute that command at around 9:01AM today and until now it's already 9:45AM and it's still hanging(?). I also checked my top command for that process and I got this result: PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND 5682 root 9 0 336 336 276 S 0.0 0.2 0:00 cpio BTW, the filesize of this file is 553239173. Any advice? Thanks. --- MARVIN T. PASCUAL E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tel. No. (+632) 9252053 Mobile No. +639193141254 Yahoo! ID: bintut _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
