I want to display all current IP addresses that are connecting or are being used in the my LAN. What command line will I use?
hmmm... i haven't encountered such app before (on GNU/Linux), try to google search for IP scanners. but you can create a script that will ping a range of IP addresses and log the IP address to a text file on success. have you tried using 3com's network supervisor* (win/nix based)? it will scan the network, then provides you with an illustration of the actual physical/logical connection between servers/workstations. and as well as their IP add / netbios name, etc. *works well on 3com NICs/switches. i'm also been looking for its GNU/Linux Counterpart, only Nagios comes close except on the autodetection part (or i'm just missing something?) _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
