I've been trying to tune my hard drive parameters via
hdparm(8). Strange thing is running the hdparm
benchmark tests ('hdparm -Tt /dev/hda1' on my system)
produces the same results before and after the
settings changes. My drives are hooked up to a SiS
5598/5513-based IDE controller (on-board). Anyone know
how to remedy the situation?More info: Drive setup-- Channel 0 (Primary) Master: 8.2 GB Fujitsu Secondary: 1.0 GB Seagate Channel 1 (Secondary) Secondary: ASUS CD Drive Chipset/Motherboard/RAM-- Asus SP97/V, IDE controller via SiS5598 chipset (SiS 5513), 96 MB RAM Timing results-- 24 MB/sec buffer cache 8 MB/sec buffer read Settings activated-- Filesystem readahead: 16 32-bit access UDMA 2 (UDMA/66) (Checked Google for any info about my problem. So far nothing.) JM Ibanez __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable.
