Quoting plug bert ([EMAIL PROTECTED]): > Is there a preferred fs for maildirs....
After all that, I belatedly realise that I didn't even answer the question you actually _asked_. Damn, sorry. I've been wrestling with all three of the message store formats, lately, and the matter's been on my mind. ReiserFS is a really good filesystem, _generally_ speaking, for situations where you have a lot of little files. This is because one of the reasons for writing it in the first place was to have a good filesystem for Usenet news servers, which are really hell on hard disk arrays for lots of reasons, but the multiplicity of small files is among them. Whether mbox vs. mh vs. Maildir actually makes a significant performance difference depends on the individual situation. Doing a pilot system might be a really good idea, though. _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
