yeah, i used to use ext3 for everything too.  i switched to reiser because
i use maildir and evolution is dog slow on ext2/ext3 with maildir (ymmv,
i'm on a notebook :).  heh, as it happens, evolution is slowing down
again despite being on reiser. i guess it's not just the filesystem, but
also the mailer itself :).  or the damn notebook :).

thanks for the reminder about ext3.  i haven't used it in a while.  i'll
probably put spare fake partitions on those boxes, one for each type
of partition, then have a cron job write random data to the partitions
all the time (every minute or something :).  then turn them off and
on just for fun :).

report to follow, if i actually do perform this insanity :).
