Hi guys,

I'm not sure if this is the proper forum for this, as I am not sure as to
the simplicity or complexity of the matter, but here goes. I'd like to
install dual boot windows 2k and Red Hat 8.0 on a new pc. Where can I find
the info oh how to go about it so I can install both OSs and have them
working ? If this is too basic for this forum, can someone kindly point me
in the right direction and I'll ask the question there. Thanks !

Thanks a ton,

Serge

Watch out, Have fried an EIDE hard drive by
simulating hot swapping. Putting in the EIDE
cable and power cable to the HDD while the
computer is running. It will acutally work,
but the HDD will eventually die from your
shock treatment to it.

Standard EIDE was never designed to be hot
swappable, unless you have custom hardware
to do hot swap on an EIDE HDD.

Gotcha, when I said I did something like it, I meant I temporarily
plugged a spare harddrive into the cpu (with power turned off, taking
into consideration static charges and stuff), turned the power on,
booted into linux, partitioned and formatted the drive (it was
originally partitioned in ntfs) and transferred my files into it. :)

ciao!

Wala nang talent fee? :)

Someone also sent me this link:
http://www.bluepoint.com.ph/roadtour/
by [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I read in their website that they are also holding a redhat linux thingy
here in baguio.

anyway, since the end of the school year is near. i'm planning to hold it
in march before the final exams. i also have to ask the school if they
can shoulder the expenses and other incidentals.

could you suggest any topics that would be catetered to newbies. most of
the participants will be 4th & 5th yr. computer engineering/science
students. Also, what particular distribution would be ideal for this
event?

I was also hoping if anyone can send me the schedule of events and topics
discussed in san pablo. if it's ok :)

a million thanks!

'jopoy
