i think debian potato lacks "etc/sysconfig/network" but i'm pretty sure that your suggestion will do the job =)
anyway, here's what i did after editing the /etc/hostname file shell> hostname -F /etc/hostname and it worked! salamat sa quickie!!! Mark M.
