anybody had experienced setting up the darwin streaming media server on a linux machine and have streamed video/audio from it?
Orly, how about bandwidth, does streaming citylite883 eat up considerable bandwidth, i believe it's unicast? hrmm i hope there would be like a move on all isp to multicast enable all their routers/switches to save bandwidth =) Hrmm, i was wondering kung gaano kalaki ang bandwidth ng bitstop, they're streaming many radio stations, gma frontpage sa inq7.net atbp, if they stream audio at 32kbps and let's say there's about 100 listeners on unicast, that would eat up about 3.2Mbits? that's a lot, well it goes with local peering and international links but that's only 100 as an example. sherwin ang ----- Original Message ----- From: "Holden Hao" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, March 13, 2003 2:45 PM Subject: Re: [plug] streaming video and music using linux > On Thu, 13 Mar 2003 11:57:13 +0800 > "Jess Emerson L. BTW, ffmpeg developers still consider ffmpeg to be a beta product. But it worked when I tested it and had no problems. If I am not mistaken other OSS streaming projects use ffmpeg in the background. > > > > Holden > > _ > Philippine Linux Users Group.
