We need all the help we can get. That is why we are setting up the Open Minds to be
our umbrella organization to tackle not only Technical (PLUG can handle that part) but
also political, business development and marketing issues. One of the Open Minds
initiatives is to create a list of companies supporting Linux and Open Source. That
is just to handle the technical support issue being thrown against us.

So those who have not yet heeded the call of Ian to enlist their companies as
providers of Open source services, please do so now. And for those freelance linux
administrators and php programmers who are not aligned with any company yet, maybe you
can form an organization and be represented in open minds (I am not sure if PLUG could
be that one).

We are planning a big event to make the local market aware of our existence and at the
same time attract foreign companies to outsource to the Philippines. So start beefing
up our technical capabilities. Be listed. We have to show we are organized. We want
to position Open Minds as the org that can organize the Open Source community and make
it a real outsourcing force to reckon with. If it pushes through, the event will be
sometime in August. I am in the process of drawing up the concept paper. Suggestions
are welcome.
