i've patched the 2.2.x linux kernel a while ago in order for it to have a sound support using only the mobo's pc speaker.

i was amused to hear the "Free Software Song"
(both MP3 and Mpeg (video) ) played on its tiny
speaker.

the quality? half way between AM & FM Radio
(not bad, right?)

well at least, it's good enough for those people who
are not allowed have a sound card on their workstations.

and good enough for those embedded PC enthusiast coz it
can save them a lot of money by removing the need for
additional (on-board) sound chipset & replacing it with a
cheap audio amplifier (that is, if they're not after the quality).
kung yun mga Talking ATMs nga robotic din ang dating nun
quality di ba?

you can even fool your non-tech ofcmates & make them
believe that your embedded router/firewall is suffering
from some kind of interference from a nearby
AM/FM/TV Station. ;)
