Which one, country manager of Apple Philippines? Dunno, that office seems
to
have the fastest revolving door in the industry. I don't think they've been
here 10 years but they've already had more than five country managers.
Speculation is that the regional office is very demanding.

Mabuhay.

Sorry again. Next time dinako mag-post dito ng query sa MS products.:)

IMO lang.

Kasi wala na akong alam na makakatulong sa akin. Naisip kulang e maraming
magaling sa computer dito (pati MS). Urgent lang kasi.

Meron akong nakitang nag-post ng query about 'computer dealers' sa
Vis/Mindanao. meron naman nag-reply. So isa itong reason kaya nag-lakas
loob na akong mag-post kahit off-topic.

Your solution did not solve the problem. Basta kapag nag-click ako sa 'Work
Offline' (under File menu ng MSIE) dapat ma-diconnect din ang DUN
connection.

Kapag nag-click na naman ako sa Work Offline, dapat mag-coconect ang
dial-up ko sa Internet na naman. So ang 'Work Offline' ang magiging
online/offline connection sa web access using MSIE.

P.S.
Please paki-close nalang ang topic na ito, para dina magalit ang mga plug
members sa akin. Baka kasi meron pang gagaya sa akin. Thank you.

maybe the linux kernel hacking and the linux kernel internals guides at
tldp.org
will help you. i've read a few of them, and it clearly details how to write
your
own drivers. however, i have't really tried them because time is not a
luxury to
me. :(

be warned, a lot of technical source code related discussion is at hand.
they're
bareley readable to newbie kernel hackers because they're written by kernel
hackers too. and we all know how hackers hate writing documentation outside
of
the source code... ;)

HTH.

happy hacking! :)

thanks fooler, in fact i was really expecting that you will be the first
one to reply on my case.
i have tried several tools to find out the possibility of your idea and
that includes removing the RAM and using it with another pc and testing it
with another tool that runs under different OS. all results proved that
the RAMs are of good condition.
i need more assistance :-) (for me not to resort to upgrading my box)

other OS'es won't stress the RAM as much.
you need a RAM tester which checks every bit (forgot the name).

OTOH it's possible you simply ran out of RAM.

                   Modern SCO Executive
(Apologies to Gilbert, Sullivan, and most of humanity)
(Send brickbats to: Rick Moen and Karsten Self)

[The scene: Major-General Darl McBride has stepped up to the fo'castle
of HMS SCaldera, which has just fought its first skirmish against the
dread Pirates of Penguinance. He prepares to hold a press
conference^W^W^W^W
address the troops:]

McBride:

I am the very model of a modern SCO executive.
Our market share is minuscule; our losses are consecutive.
But from our labs deep in U-T, you very soon will surely see
The ultimate, the pinnacle, in high-technolo-barratry.
"Live free or die" philosophies are very well, but still, you see:
Our contracts and our trade secrets make Unix seem our property.
Never mind what we really own (a question not rhetorical):
We have thirty thousand contracts, though most are quite historical.

Lawyer Chorus:

We have thirty thousand contracts, though most are quite historical.
We have thirty thousand contracts, though most are quite historical.
We have thirty thousand contracts, though most are quite historical.

McBride:

While our profit's been elusive, our tort claims are unremitting,
And Blake Stowell's PR quota is still dozens at each sitting.
In short, in matters litigual, continual, accusative,
I am the very model of a modern SCO executive.

Lawyer Chorus:

In short, in matters litigual, continual, accusative,
He is the very model of a modern SCO executive.

McBride:

Our history's mythological (per Eric, it's not factual).
I answer simple questions with evasions indeciph'rable.
I'm quoted in the IT press, first one and then another way,
And if that's not quite sufficient, then Sontag runs some blocking play.
I'm not so good with copyrights, Novell's got those (they say to us),
Our patent holding's very slim, our valuation's perilous.
But please don't ever hit me with our POSIX system standard score.
I'm always quite confused by that infernal nonsense System 4.

Lawyer Chorus:

He's always quite confused by that infernal nonsense System 4.
He's always quite confused by that infernal nonsense System 4.
He's always quite confused by that infernal nonsense System 4.

McBride:

That freaky hippie GPL, you'd think we'd never heard of it!
And all that code we say they took? The Stevens book's got every bit.
In short, with markets minimal and losses quite consecutive,
I am the very model of a modern SCO executive.

Lawyer Chorus:

In short with markets minimal and losses quite consecutive,
He is the very model of a modern SCO executive!

McBride:

Our name is "SCO" (although we really still are Caldera):
Our Eighties business plan seemed good; why permit a change of era?
That old IP that passed to us seemed ripe for legal mining.
We're not quite clear on what it is, but it must have been worth buying.
I look with great anxiety on Linux and on BSD.
I've signed up with the Devil: Chairman Bill sent a huge license fee.
He says he has a high regard for intellectual property,
But I really haven't thought much what he'll do when he's done with me.

Lawyer Chorus:

But he really hasn't thought much what he'll do when he's done with him.
But he really hasn't thought much what he'll do when he's done with him.
But he really hasn't thought much what he'll do when he's done with him.

McBride:

Our contract reach is deep and broad, and gives us exclusivity:
The lawyers tell us to shoot wide. (Who'll notice things like privity?)
From the penguinista rabble, I've earned naught but opprobrium.
But dare I'll say I'm twice the man of anyone at I-B-M.

Lawyer Chorus:

But dare'e'll say he's twice the man of anyone at I-B-M.
But dare'e'll say he's twice the man of anyone at I-B-M.
But dare'e'll say he's twice the man of anyone at I-B-IBM.

McBride:

So though we have run quite amok, we readily will go away,
If for our worthless capital, you were this tidy sum to pay.
In short, with markets minuscule and losses quite consecutive,
I am the very model of a modern SCO executive.

Lawyer Chorus:

In short, with markets minuscule and losses quite consecutive,
I am the very model of a modern SCO executive.

Subject: [plug] Munich 14,000/16,000 -- Manila ?
Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Probably old news to most here, the conversion of
14,000 gov't PCs and 16,000 gov't users of Munich
"Munich Goes with Open Source Software"
  http://linuxpr.com/releases/5893.html
  http://www.linuxworld.com/2003/0528.munich.html
  http://news.zdnet.co.uk/story/0,,t269-s2135356,00.html
but was just wondering how many gov't PCs/users in Manila
or for that matter Philippines. Is there an estimate?

Could there be a future news headline
"Manila Goes with Open Source Software"
Or
"Microsoft fought hard to retain the business,
offering deals and discounts, with chief executive
Steve Ballmer interrupting a ski holiday in Switzerland
to pay a personal visit to the mayor of Manila..."?
Well, maybe mayor of Manila would be too small fry for
Ballmer to bother with. How about president of
Philippines? Is it conceivable that the president might
push the entire gov't like what the Univ. of Philippines
president did for UP?

I guess Manila or Philippines does not have as many as
PCs as Munich, or as much data/services online yet, so
any "conversion" won't be so much of a big issue or
a big bang event or as costly as Munich?

On the other hand, OSS being free may not be a very
strong argument, since Windows etc. is also free
to many...

Thank you -JhAzEr-

The box's cooling system was checked and double checked. In fact it is
currently bare (minus the box covers) to allow a better ventilation (not
to mention an electric fan is positioned next to it to increase the better
ventilation, hehehe)
Im really bothered by this case.

try this one: Memtest86 for Linux

    http://www.memtest86.com/

Memtest86 is thorough, stand alone memory test for x86 architecture
computers.
BIOS based memory tests are only a quick check and often miss many
of the
failures that are detected by Memtest86. Memtest86 is released under
the terms of the GPL

<br>
try this one: Memtest86 for Linux<br>
<br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext"
href="http://www.memtest86.com/";>http://www.memtest86.com/</a><br>
<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Memtest86 is thorough, stand alone memory test for
x86 architecture
computers. <br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; BIOS based memory tests are only a quick check and often
miss many of
the <br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; failures that are detected by Memtest86. Memtest86 is
released under
the terms of the GPL </p>
