How fast would you need 'broadband' to be? Even in Manila, the DSL and cable
providers can't give you better'n 15KBytes per second. At least, the last time
I checked download speeds.

Choose from among Globe, Smart, or Sun Cellular who has the strongest signal,
then get yourself a GPRS phone and use that as your modem. Mahal nga lang,
it'll be PhP0.25/KByte. For Sun (and possibly Smart), that's chargeable against
your MSF, with Globe, it's on top of the MSF. IOW, if you pay Sun PhP1,200/mo,
you can consume PhP1,200 worth of downloads, and not pay anything extra. In
contrast, with Globe, you can pay PhP1,200 as your MSF, + PhP0.25/KByte --
except WAP-over-GPRS, w/c is free. Speed, as far as I remember, is slightly
faster than a 56K dial-up.
