Aureal went bankrupt. Creative owns the IP. Creative will not release specs. Kind of makes sense, because the AU8830 was significantly more powerful than the then-current SB Live, and Creative's EAX technology was considered inferiod to A3D 2.0. That said, the jolly boys at FreeBSD have an Aureal driver, however it's just a simple wave device. e.g. your 3d-geometric-rendering sound card gets turned into a DAC. The aureal.sourceforge.net team has ported said driver to Linux, although they also maintain the old driver-with-a-binary-kernel-module. --- Orlando Andico <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mosaic Communications, Inc. -- Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [EMAIL PROTECTED] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Official Website: http://plug.linux.org.ph Searchable Archives: http://marc.free.net.ph .
