i have a LAN card sis900 on an asus motherboard and I
installed RH 8.0. it was not detected during
installation but since i saw that the accompanying cd
with the motherboard has a driver for linux i did not
mind. The motherboard driver has a NIC driver with a
manual. i followed the manual up to the last
instruction but, sad to say, this message appears
everytime i issue the command ifup

SIOCSIFFLAGS: Device or resource busy.

i have tried installing an additional LAN card but the
same prompt appears.

has anyone experienced a similar scenario and how have
you resolved it? i would appreciate any input on this
matter, thanks!
