Hi everyone,

I've spent a couple of days trying to compile the kernel driver which
came with the Edimax PCMCIA Dongle-less 10/100 Ethernet adapter card.
However, upon checking the sources, I've seen that it was using the
deprecated <linux/malloc.h> file, which should have been <linux/slab.h>.

But after a few countless hours of hacking at the source, it came to me
that after countless tries on compiling the driver which came with the
card (in the CD), I was getting nowhere since I might be experiencing a
case of a very _old_ and _outdated_ driver. <-- it kept complaining
about using members of a structure which didn't exist, along with a
couple of undefined macros.

I've followed the instructions on the manufacturer's site, as well as on
the CD, as well as a couple of things outside of the documentation and
anything I could've thought of, but to no avail.

Has anybody been able to use this card with a laptop running linux? How
did you guys do it?

I've tried a couple of things, and one of them was use Knoppix and see
if it could detect and setup the card automajically, and it did! :) Now
the problem I'm having is that I couldn't to it manually (or
masochistically) in my Debian Woody installation on my laptop. Any ideas
on where I should start?

Insights would be most welcome. :D

TIA
