I've tried a couple of things, and one of them was use Knoppix and see
if it could detect and setup the card automajically, and it did! :) Now
the problem I'm having is that I couldn't to it manually (or
masochistically) in my Debian Woody installation on my laptop. Any ideas
on where I should start?

hmmn.. it seems that Knoppix knows your device better than the manufacturer. use lsmod command and see what kernel device module it is currently using. then, if you have the same kernel version with Knoppix and your Debian do insmod in your box keeping in mind about module dependencies.. if not still working you may need to master linux device drivers and play again with the source code.. and maybe you can also give me the device driver source code and see what i can do..

=)
