while openmosix is a great options in reducing loads on the server, it still not a good idea to implement it in an LTSP environment, you can read on the ltsp.org website regarding their experiences on openmosix+ltsp. If you want your server to handle applications smoothly, 1.) you can add more RAM on the server or 2.) turn on LOCAL_APPS in your lts.conf. the latter will reduce loads on the server because applications will run on the diskless workstation Hope This Helps - --> jon noong nakaraang Tue, 16 Sep 2003 20:21:03 +0800 (PHT) si <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ay sumulat ng ganito: > hi, > > i've recently set-up k12ltsp and it works nice. i can boot > anywhere within my campus network (ie. 300m across another > building). i heard about this open-mosix and would like to > ask if its worth the trouble if i do this or not. is it > applicable to my network. i'm thinking of this as > a"hands-on-experience" (r&d kuno) but judging the > mini-how-to's i read its complicated. > > please advise. thanks. > - -- Gabriel L.
