Do you really have to make it a native app?

Perhaps Java(tm) would be something of interest. With it, you have
virtually no problem with cross-platform issues -- but you will have
issues with speed and performance.

I believe J2ME(tm) is what you would like to look at if you're
considering Java(tm) as an option.

And I gather that the Win2Kx/XP products offered by MS are not easy on
the pocket (PC or not ;) ).

Java is a registered trademark of Sun Microsystems -- cited for
convenience. :D
