For anyone who might be interested: The 1-to-4 player
network mahjong game version 1.6pre1 is now out. Its URL is:

http://www.stevens-bradfield.com/MahJong/

The latest release version is 1.5.6.

The nice things about network mahjong are:

1. anywhere from 1 to 4 players can play, and you do not have
to be in the same place.

2. You do not have to lose anything and still enjoy the game.
In the "real" mahjong game, you can lose all your money, your
house and lot, and your wife and children.

3. If you are winning, you do not fear for your life, that is,
you are not afraid that your losing opponents will shoot
you in the head, as has happened in real games.

4. Mah jong is just as enjoyable and as addicting as other
multi-user network games, like Ragnarok? And you do not have
to be Chinese to play the game. The list of mah jong addicts
include politicians, movie personalities, and regular folks
like us.

The only disadvantage of network mah jong is the absence of
tiles that you can actually touch to "feel" before you actually
"see". The wild acticipation while you are "puro" and waiting
for "mah jong" is heightened if you can "feel" the tiles. What
we need is a hardware output device engineer who can produce
a "feelable" surface that shapes itself under program control
to simulate the tile surface. Any ideas?
