Thanks... but I was hoping I could do my replication straight from
shell.  I checked the rsync manpage, but couldn't see anything regarding
exact (low level?) hdd copy.  Maybe I should I use dd instead?

mkCDrec is a good find, though, and I'll surely be using it in the near
future.  Thanks again!
