Hello!

At 02:25 PM 10-22-2003, you wrote:

This is what I did.  But read on...

Strange.  Every version of Postfix I've used from the ancient 19991231
to the present 2.x series has relay control in the mynetworks and
relay_domains parameters.  I imagine you've set these to the correct
values for your network.  Double check them.  I've deployed more postfix
boxes than I care to remember and what you describe has never happened
to me.  What values do these parameters have?

Hmmm... Perhaps the trouble was that the mail server was behind an IPTABLES firewall, and the firewall is set to DNAT and SNAT accordingly.

I've since enabled SASL within postfix and the problem has been solved, the IP has been removed from blacklists.

However, I think manually adding users and their passwords with sasl is too "insecure" because I have to know their passwords, although I can go to the authorized users' workstations and ssh or telnet to the mail server and let them type their passwords in, but that's too tedious.  I'll be reading up on it these next few days.

Thanks to all who replied!
