Trademark law and copyright law are totally different things.

Copyright is a limited monopoly over literal duplication of a particular
artistic expression. Trademark is a different sort of limited monopoly
over the impression of brand identity left in customer's minds of a
design or logo used in business by anyone else in the same industry.
