Or it could actually be information the author wants to deceive the
readers about himself.  The net is full of disinformation, intentional or
not, and this is simply another way of acheiving this.

Think about it - what is the the psyche of a person who actually puts his
deep down private moments about himself and the world around him.... in a
very public forum for all the world to read and weep about...
