So far it looks OK. Below is the result of ifconfig. I've changed the MAC
address.

  eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
            inet addr:192.168.0.1 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
            RX packets:24129 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
            TX packets:21955 errors:32 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:64
            collisions:546 txqueuelen:100
            RX bytes:2621095 (2.4 Mb) TX bytes:10261788 (9.7 Mb)
           Interrupt:10 Base address:0xb400

  ppp0 Link encap:Point-to-Point Protocol
            inet addr:192.168.1.7 P-t-P:192.168.1.1 Mask:255.255.255.255
UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
            RX packets:10881 errors:1 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
            TX packets:12537 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
            collisions:0 txqueuelen:3
            RX bytes:6212473 (5.9 Mb) TX bytes:967097 (944.4 Kb)

Here's the routing table:
