thanks! actually, i was asking about the electrical aspect: 3.3v 
AGP 1.0 slot versus the common 1.5v/0.8v  AGP 2.0/3.0 cards prevalent
today.  there are cards that will fit the slot but burn up and damage the
board due to the voltage mismatch. so i had to post to several groups
to get a consensus on the matter.  

anyway, nasubukan ko na and IT WORKED!
unfortunately, the old CPU (550Mhz) proved to be the bottleneck, it
did not help improve the graphics subsystem.
as i discovered now, mga around 1.2Ghz processor ang kailangan to push the
card to its limit.
