Just finished building my new kernel from the pristine source, patched with Morton's -mm1 patch.
I actually just need just the atiixp driver, so did make menuconfig and enabled it there. make rpm, no problems... copied the rpm over to a fresh SuSE 9 VM... rpm -ivh... mkinitrd... reboot... The box boots ok but the ethernet interfaces need some minor tweaking to get them going, modprobe and ip link... cron and ssh don't seem to start yet, but i'll get to that later. After thinking a bit, perhaps it's possible to backport bart zolnierkiewicz's atiixp patch into 2.4... any ideas guys? 2.6 seems ok but it seems i won't be able to run it in my production boxes for a few more months. i just need ati ixp support :) tia, jan -----Original Message----- From: ian sison (mailing list) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, March 13, 2004 11:45 AM To: Philippine Linux Users Group Mailing List Subject: Re: [plug] 2.6.4-mm1 on SuSE 9 Not exactly the same comparison, but i've tried kernel 2.6.3 on Mandrake 9.2 and it works fine. It's not on production, however, because i still don't trust 2.6 as being production ready. On Sat, 13 Mar 2004, Chaves, Jan Amcil wrote: > > Hi!
