parallel ports had .5 volts along with it, so with that in mind, you could write a schematic to utilize it as a switch. a sort of a circuirty involving triacs i remember. I experimented with this some years ago, when i attempted to assemble a switch to control appliances. I still have the diagram, but its buried deep in my archives in a separate disk. so im not about to do that now. but if ever i get a hold of it, ill mail it to you if you want.
